Yes, you could make it at home...

But why would you?

Let’s be honest: who actually has the time to make chicken salad at home?

You bake the chicken, cool the chicken, mix the dressing, chop the vegetables, and toss in the seasonings; ultimately, you’re left with enough chicken salad to feed the whole of Livingston County—and probably a messy kitchen. That’s the trouble about homemade chicken salad: it’s never a single serving situation. It’s a whole thing.

That’s why we decided to make our own chicken salad.

Long time fans of Simply Fresh might recall that our chicken salad was once called JB's Chicken Salad, named for the store's co-owner, Julie. Julie explained that the our original recipe chicken salad was born from a simple frustration: why is it so hard to find chicken salad made with clean, quality ingredients?

What started with a simple question eventually evolved into one of our fan favorites. We've been making our own chicken salad ever since.

Our chicken salad is made with just six simple ingredients: GMO-free local Amish chicken, Sir Kensington GMO-free mayonnaise, organic celery, organic red grapes, raw pecans, and fresh tarragon.

And yet, despite it’s simplicity (or perhaps because of it), our chicken salad truly does it all: It’s sweet and savory. It’s crunchy and smooth. It’s got the crispness of fresh celery and the crunch of pecans, mixed with the fresh burst of red grapes. The creamy mayo dressing clings to tender, lightly-seasoned chicken, giving all that crunch something solid to land on. And that slightly sweet, almost fennel flavor that brings it all together? That’d be the tarragon. Our not-so-secret ingredients.

It’s got balanced texture, real flavor, and quality ingredients. And no mess for you. What’s not to love?
